Herzegovina Highlights

Mostar

Mostar city, known as the window of the Orient, is the fifth-largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the cultural capital of the Herzegovina region. Mostar is situated on the Neretva river.

The most recognizable landmark of Mostar is the Old Bridge over the Neretva, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century and it is the first monument in Bosnia and Herzegovina listed on UNESCO’s list of cultural heritage.

The Old Bridge area with its diverse architecture is an outstanding example of a multicultural urban settlement.
